ABOUT

5G-PHOS proposes a hybrid optical/ wireless transmission network to facilitate the advanced and innovative 5G applications with high transmission rate and high reliability requirements in densely populated areas and hotspots.

PROJECT OBJECTIVES AND HIGHLIGHTS

5G-PHOS exploits the combined use of fiber optics and high-frequency wireless links to interconnect multiple access points. At the same time, it exploits Software Define Networking (SDN) for resource management focusing on cases of ultra dense areas and hotspots.

WHAT WE HAVE ACHIEVED/OUR ROLE

Incelligent participated in the formulation of the SDN programmable system architecture and led the activities with respect to SDN, enabling network resource management using intelligent algorithms. We actively worked for the integration, evaluation and demonstration activities where the proposed Fiber-Wireless (FiWi) network was validated successfully.
